Reports emerging from Abuja Nigeria’s capital on Saturday said the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics,ASUP has suspended its Strike action which is almost 10-moth long .Lectures are expected to resume in all public polytechnics on Tuesday.
The breakthrough came just days after Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau was named as the new minister of education.But details of how the final deal to suspend the strike was reached were not immediately available.
However a report by Thenationonlineng.net said Dr Charles Asomugha,chairman of ASUP hinted that the suspension would be for three months,an indication that the crisis may not entirely be over yet.
