The Bauchi State Muslims Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (BSMPWB) has reiterated its commitment to securing befitting accommodation for pilgrims to the 2018 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The Executive Chairman of the board, Alhaji Abdullahi Hardawa stated this on Sunday, in a statement in Bauchi.
Hardawa said the State Government would remain focused in its resolve to ensure the welfare of the pilgrims in the Holy Land.
“The administration of Gov. Mohammed Abubakar has continued to fund Hajj operations to ensure ease and comfort of the pilgrims.
“Bauchi is the only state in the federation which subsidised the cost of accommodation in 2017, as N85, 000 was spent on each pilgrim.
“This is to ensure that all the state’s pilgrims were accommodated in a beautiful edifice close to the Haram Mosque in Makkah,’’ he said.
Hardawa said government was committed to maintaining the same kind gesture to the pilgrims this year.
“The state government is committed to retaining the accommodation close to Haram for the pilgrims just like last year.
“In addition, government had made adequate arrangement for security, transportation, feeding and healthcare facilities at the pilgrims’ camp, the airport in Bauchi and in Saudi Arabia,’’ he said. (NAN)
