Awoniyi Family Donates Bus to Church

Awoniyi 600Honouring God with one’s substance to enable the spread of the gospel,has been described as the reason for the donation of a Bus to First Baptist Church,Ileteju Mopa in Kogi State. Yomi Awoniyi,Kogi State Deputy Governor made the assertion in Mopa,Mopamuro LGA of the State at the presentation of an 18 seater bus donated by the Awoniyi family during the 5th year memorial anniversary of their late father,late Chief S.B.Awoniyi in December 2012.

While Government in the State, Awoniyi noted has created a safe an enabling environment for all religions in the state to be practised, he urged individuals who have been blessed by God to assist religious institutions.Awoniyi commended the various religions in the State for living peacefully with one another, assured of government’s continuous support in ensuring that the State remains peaceful.

The deputy governor who lamented the decay the society has witnessed in recent time,said the effective use of the various religions which preache peace,discipline and good moral conduct will help people retrace their steps.

In his sermon,Rev’d Joshua Ige,Pastor in-charge,First Baptist Church,Ileteju Mopa,urged Christians not to be carried away by their activities in the service of the house of God,rather they should seek to have an encounter with Jesus Christ by surrendering their weaknesses and work according to the dictates of God.

The clergy man thanked the Awoniyi family for the presentation,said it will be used to propagate the gospel of Jesus.

Highlights of the church service was the presentation of the Bus key to the Church Pastor while prayers were also offered for the deputy governor,his Family and the present administration of Capt Idris Wada,Kogi State Governor.
