Ahmadu Bello’s Family Mourns Taraba Ex-Governor Suntai

The family of the Premier of Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello (Sardaunan Sokoto) has described the death of former Governor of Taraba State, Mr Danbaba Danfulani Suntai as a big loss to the country.

A statement signed by the grandson of the late premier, Alhaji Hasan Ahmed Danbaba, on behalf of the family, said the late Suntai was a strong believer in the legacies of Sir Ahmadu Bello.

“Former Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai was a great believer in the legacies of the late Premier of Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardaunan Sokoto, throughout his career as a public administrator and politician. He believed in good governance, fair play and mutual coexistence among people irrespective of their differences,” the statement said.

The Sardauna’s family said the death of Mr Suntai was a rude shock to them because “of the enormous respect he accorded the Sir Ahmadu Bello’s family. Since the tragic air crash in October 2012, we had prayed that the amiable governor would come back to his feet, but his creator knew the best by taking him away.”

The family expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family of the Mr Suntai, the good people of Taraba State and all lovers of peace and mutual coexistence in the country.

“It is clear that Mr Suntai will be missed by the family of the former premier, the good people of Taraba State and Nigeria in general,” the statement said.
