The African Bar Association is set to hold its annual conference in the Garden city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The five days conference will take place at the Presidential Hotel between Sunday August 6 and August 10, 2017.
Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, the immediate past President of Tanzania is the keynote speaker. The theme of the 2017 conference is “Dissecting the Legal and regulatory framework for doing business in Africa”
According to the President of the African Bar Association, Hanibal Uwaifo Esq the conference promises to be rewarding and resourceful, following on the heels of its 2016 rebirth conference in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The President noted that the conference will have 20 conference sessions cutting across law, politics, good governance, legal practice and environment. He urged lawyers, judges, judicial officers and even government officials and business men and women to attend as there will be something for everyone, even if not a lawyer. Also, it will be an opportunity for networking and Business development opportunities.
Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN will deliver a good will message while the Council chairman of the African Bar Association, J. B Daudu, SAN will be in attendance along with many senior lawyers across Africa.
