Ahead of Saturday’s Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship primaries in Adamawa State, Dr Ahmed Mohammed Modibbo has assured of an all-inclusive government if elected as a governor, just as he met with elected delegates from the southern senatorial zone of the state.
Modibbo made the promise at a meeting with the 147 PDP delegates on Wednesday in Ganye town who were drawn from four local governments that make up the zone, namely: Ganye, Jada, Tongo and Mayo-Belwa local governments areas.
He also met with another 178 delegates from five local governments of Demsa, Numan, Shileng, Guyuk and Lamorde which are part of the Southern Senatorial zone.
While seeking their votes in Saturday’s primaries election, he reassured that as a foundation member of PDP and a proud son to Adamawa state; he was committed to bring back the lost glory of the state through a purposeful political leadership.
He revealed that a thoroughly all-inclusive government would be the only solution of Adamawa’s challenges going by its large tribal population.
Modibbo also cautioned the delegates not allow politicians who had failed them in the past to return to office; but instead vote for those who have workable re-engineering development plans for Adamawa like him.
He added that his thirty-five years working experiences in public service would bail out Adamawa from its current economic and infrastructural setbacks.
Modibbo provided satisfactory answers to some questions which emanated from delegates most of which bordered on capital projects, political appointments and women representation for the zone.
Similarly, Alhaji Usman Gindau Yebbi the southern senatorial district delegate coordinator for Modibbo Campaign Organisation appreciated the delegates for using the forum as an opportunity to present their agitation to Modibbo.
Yebbi expressed hope that as a zonal coordinator and former Majority Leader in Adamawa State Assemby, he would soon lead the aspirant back to the southern zone to commission capital projects as an elected governor.
Earlier at a courtesy visit on the monarch of Ganye, Alh. Umaru Adamu Sanda (The Gangwari of Ganye); Modibbo was assured of support from the Ganye Traditional Council at the palace.
The monarch who said the former UBEC boss needed no further introduction in Adamawa State due to his good gestures, however appealed for peaceful conduct among aspirants.
Leader of Ganye Council of Elders, Alh. Julde Gurum Pawo on behalf of all traditional chiefs and title holders in the town said a man of Modibbo’s social stature was required to salvage the state.
