The death has occurred of Elder Christopher Ogbu Onoja of Opialu Village in Edumoga District of Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State. The elder died from asthma complications on Saturday, March 29th at St. Mary’s Hospital, Okpoga, the local government headquarters of Okpokwu LGA in the aftermath of a seizure described by family sources as particularly vicious.
Born in Opialu Town in Edumoga District of Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State on March 12th, 1930, the late Elder Onoja is survived by his wife, three children, many grandchildren and a great grandchild. Among the children is Adagbo Onoja who was Special Adviser on Media Affairs to Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State until 2012 when he resigned and eventually left Nigeria to further his studies in the United Kingdom (UK).
According to Mr. Sunday Ogbu Onoja, a lecturer at the Benue State Polytechnic and one of the sons of the deceased, a final burial arrangement would be announced at the end of on-going kindred consultations when somebody of that age is involved.
