Abductors of Pastor Mfon Akpan Udoneke, the Area Superintendent of Ikot-Akoa Idem Apostolic church in Ukanafun local government area of Akwa Ibom state are demanding N10 million ransom for his release.

The kidnappers finally reached out to their victim’s family members and the church authorities yesterday via telephone calls.

All efforts to reach the authorities of the church to comments on the matter failed yesterday but a family source who pleaded anonymity said the kidnappers have already called the family and elders of the church to make known their demands.

“The kidnapers of Pastor Akpan Udoneke called in the early hours of today(Tuesday)to demand for N10million ransom for his release” the source simply said.

The pastor was kidnapped in the early hours of Monday at about 5.00 Am while preparing for women’s fellowship prayer meeting in the church.

Meanwhile the state police command has vowed to fish out all the perpetrators of the dastardly act and ensure that they are brought to book.

The command’s public relations officer, Mr. Macdona Ogeche, who stated this while reacting to the issue, said the command had banned the use of okada and imposed a curfew, restricting movement from 6pm to 6am in the morning.

“The command is trying its best to ensure that the rate of kidnapping and other violent crimes in the localities are brought to the barest minimum”.

‘’You know that the use of okada has been banned and a curfew imposed on the communities, restricting movement from 6pm to 6am in the morning” he said.

He called on the residents to corporate and volunteer information to the police and other security agencies in order to address the challenge of kidnapping in the local government. End
