Security measures were beefed up in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital and its environs to ensure a hitch-free burial of ex-Governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Doma.
Security personnel were seen positioned at strategic locations, including that of Doma, the home of the deceased.
They include those of the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps among other security agencies.
Mr Bello Ahmed, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, had earlier said on Monday, said that police personnel had been deployed to strategic locations in the state for the burial.
He said the police was collaborating with other security personnel to ensure that no law was breached during the burial.
Doma who died on March 6, in an Isreal hospital at 75 was the governor of the state between 2007 to 2011 ON the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The remains of the formal governor arrived his home town, Doma, headquarters of Doma Local Government Area at 10 a.m on Sunday the burial. (NAN)
