The Imo state House of Assembly bye election conducted today, received the endorsement of a major opposition party in the state: the All Nigeria Peoples Party(ANPP).
In a press release, a copy of which was made available to this reporter, the party’s Chairman in the state, Chief Vitalise Orikeze Ajumbe, said that the candidate of his party fully took part in the by-election at Oguta for the remaining 4 INEC wards to decide who will represent Oguta in the State House of Assembly.
” According to our monitoring crew, the election is going on well without hitches except in some booths which has been resolved by the security agents”,Ajumbe said. He added that “Voting has almost been concluded and as agreed by all the Parties taking part in this election, INEC and the Imo State Commissioner of Police during our meeting yesterday, the final counting of votes and declaration of results shall be at the INEC office at Owerri. We expect that all parties concerned shall keep to this agreement.
