“Attn: Mohammed A. Indabawa
CP Sir,
GRUESOME MURDER OF COMRADE ONYEBUCHI ANI (IMMEDIATE PAST TUC RIVERS STATE PUBLICITY SECRETARY)
It is with a heavy heart that we convey to you the gruesome murder of Comrade Onyebuchi Ani who was shot dead in his home last night with his Elder brother who just returned from the United State of America for their father’s burial. Comrade Ani’s wife was also shot but we cannot confirm her state as we write this letter.
Comrade Onyebuchi Ani was the immediate past State Publicity Secretary of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) Rivers State and played a very significant role in the development of his primary union-construction and Civil Engineering Senior Staff Association (CCESSA) in Rivers State as well as TUC Rivers State.
We are by this letter requesting that you investigate the murderer(s), fish out those howsoever responsible and ensure that they are prosecuted in a timely manner.
Please take not that TUC Rivers State is committed to following this matter to the end, and may be constrained to calling out our members and affiliates in Rivers State for industrial action if the matter is not given all the attention that it deserves and if the perpetrators of the dastardly act are not expeditiously brought to book.
We look forward to your thorough handing of this matter as aforementioned as “injury to one, remains injury to all”.
Yours faithfully,
For: TRADE UNION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA (TUC)
