Barely six days into a ghastly accident in Abuja involving a N40million car, a family has apologized to the immediate past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke for embarrassing him.
The damaged car was reported to be owned by Adoke whereas it was bought by the Atawodi family in Abuja.
The news, posted by a blogger, went viral with aspersions cast on the ex-Minister.
But in a message to the ex-Minister on Thursday by one Winnie Atawodi, the family clarified that the ex-AGF’s son was only a passenger and not the owner of the said N40m car.
The message reads: “My son was involved in an accident on Sunday with your son as his passenger.
“We thank God they both got out unhurt and the victim is now out of the critical list.
“I was surprised to read the pack of lies printed by one blogger maligning your person.
“We as a family are very sorry for this unwarranted embarrassment.
“I heard you were out of the country all the while. We did all that was expected of us including taking your son for a CT Scan at Lifebridge to eliminate any internal injuries.
“Once again, we regret the intrusion into your privacy by a sensational journalist who will print lies just to sell his news.”
