Omoniyi further called for a speedy process that will witness the emergence of a successor and avoid a situation where the stool will be left vacant for a long period of time.

He also cautioned some Princes of Bilaro ruling house to desist from further engagement in political campaigns for the coveted throne of the foremost town in Osun State.

He further counseled those who despite their family having produced the last two Owas consecutively in a ruling house of over nine families still wants to vie for the stool to have a rethink.

Omoniyi further implored them to think of equity and fairness in the overall interest of Ijesland first above personal interest and primordial sentiments .

On the need to abide by the wise counsel of Ifa (Yoruba divination that knows everything). Omoniyi said, “Ifa deity, the all wise and knowing Orunmila that is known for fairness, equity and justice should know better than allow a single family dominate a whole ruling house, except of course in a situation where Ifa is ‘dollarised’ and compromised

“Ijesaland is an epitome of integrity and hardwork and any attempt to pick the wrong person to ascend the throne of Owa Obokun will further polarize the entire Ijesaland and deal a devastating blow to the peace and tranquility currently being enjoyed by all and sundry across board.

He added that social evils like gangsterism, money rituals, prostitution and other such vices that have affected Ijesaland, which are being tackled by well meaning Ijesas home and abroad must not be truncated.

The statement reads in part, “Ijesas are an epitome of integrity and hardwork , but today, it is gangsterism, money rituals. Prostitution and other such vices that have dominated Ijesa land.and these must be nipped in the bud.

“If the wrong person is picked, these will not just continue, but increase in geometrical proportions”.
