Nigeria’s Secret Police, the Depeartment of State Service, DSS, has denied carrying out any operation at the NLC office famously known as Labour House, in Abuja.
The DSS issued the denial in a post on its X (former Twitter) handle Thursday.
The agency said, “Please kindly note that the Service (DSS) did not carry out any operation at the NLC office in Abuja.”
News Diary Online reports that NLC said Wednesday night that armed security men invaded its national headquarters.
NLC statement signed by Mr. Benson Upah called for withdrawal of the armed operatives from the premises.
The denial by the DSS will raise further confusion over what is happening as the #BadGovernance protest in Nigeria entered its 8th day, with reports that curfews imposed on cities in the North were being relaxed.
There however appears to be lingering anxiety amid the uneasy calm in most towns and cities as the protests have not been publicly called off by the organisers yet.
