It was a spectacular evening of fine dining and unrivaled entertainment as Alhaji Nasiru Danu presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) event, ‘Love Buhari, Love Nigeria’ Valentine’s Day dinner at Intercontinental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event was held as a show of support for the party’s presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari and was hosted by Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.
Preceded by a solidarity walk for the campaign earlier in the day, it was a well-attended, star-studded evening, with over 600 guests present to show support for the presidential ticket of the APC. DJ Jimmy Jatt graced the turntables, and luminaries from the fields of politics, entertainment as well as other notable public figures were in attendance, including: Nasir El Rufai, Kaffy, Dele Momodu, General Buhari’s daughters Halima Sherrif and Safina Buhari, Pat Utomi, Dayo Adeneye, Kenny St Brown, Omowunmi Akinnifesi, Debola Williams, Nike Osinowo and Lanre Da Silva Ajayi.
The MC’s for the evening were radio and television personality Oreka Godis and comedian Julius Agwu both of whom looked stunning and delighted the guests, keeping the atmosphere fun and entertaining.
DJ Jimmy Jatt also asked for one minute of silence in to remember singer Goldie, who passed away on Valentine’s Day two years ago, before speeches from Fashola, El Rufai, and Buhari’s daughters highlighted why many were in support of Buhari’s bid for president of Nigeria.
The night would not have been complete without entertainment from some of Nigeria’s most engaging entertainers including Korede Belo and other artists from Mavin label Ricardo Banks and Afro Dija. Kenny St Brown also sang the APC theme song for this election, the highlight of the evening’s performances.
