Vice President, Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo says with the overwhelming support the PDP enjoys in Kaduna State, he is expecting over two million votes for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the forthcoming presidential elections.
The Vice President expressed this optimism on Sunday during a unity and family meeting of the Kaduna chapter of the PDP, which held at the Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kawo, Kaduna.
Arc Sambo also said he expects hundred per cent victory for the party’s candidates in other elective posts including that of the governor.
According to him “Kaduna State PDP is the same and one strong family, and I am happy for the promise they have kept and for the promise they have made to us, that Insha Allah, PDP is Kaduna State and Kaduna State is PDP, and PDP will win the elections come 2015.
It is only PDP today in Nigeria that has its presence in the state, local government, ward and polling unit level. This representation is full and strong all over the federation,” he stressed.
Arc Sambo expressed the gratitude of President Jonathan to Kaduna PDP for their support during the recently conducted National convention, adding that the President was also delighted with the rancor free primary held in the State for all electives posts.
The Vice President informed those that felt aggrieved from the party primary that “we believe that there are no losers, no winners and no vanquished and everybody will be carried along. Everyone of our party member that participated in our primary agrees that it is only one person that can be a winner and they have agreed to cooperate and work together.”
He therefore enjoined all members of the Party in Kaduna State to join hands and work assiduously for the victory of the party in the 2015 polls.
“This meeting has confirmed to me clearly and truly that we are the same strong indivisible family,” he said.
In his remark Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero said at the state level they have had fruitful discussions with all those that participated in the primary.
He said “we have been sitting with all of them in order to rub minds and also create understanding and ensure the unity of the members of the party, so that we can face the 2015 election.”
Speaking further the Governor said “We have seen a lot of progress and all of us are intact and we are sure that we are going to work hard to ensure victory in the 2015 elections all through, right from the presidential election, to the state house of assembly election.”
Speaking earlier the Deputy Chairman of Kaduna PDP, Alhaji Isiyaku Aliyu who sat in for the State chairman said the meeting was called at the instance of the Vice President. He tasked the gathering on the need to deliver the state to the party.
He also pledged the support of the members of the party to the President and his Vice.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Amb. Audu Nuhu Bajoga. Others were Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Senator Ahmed Aruwa and Mr. Danjuma Lar, as well as other PDP stalwarts from across the state.
