Bafarawa’s Uncle, 3000 Others Defect To APC

Alhaji Umaru Bafarawa, uncle to Alhaji Dalhatu Bafarawa and about 4,000 members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) from the ten wards of Isa local government area of Sokoto state on Saturday defected to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Alhaji Umaru Suleiman said that their decision was as a result of the performance of Governor Aliyu Wamakko “in terms of delivery of dividends of democracy.”

Caretaker committee chairman of the local government, Umar Muhammad Wali, on his part alleged that Bafarawa had lost the political grip of his kinsmen, adding that the “APC is the liberating party that Nigerians are yearning for.”

The state acting chairman of the party, Alhaji Usman Dan Madamin Isa assured that they would “bury the PDP in Sokoto state in the 2015 election.”

Governor Aliyu Wamakko who was represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Arzika Tureta assured defectors adding that the APC was the only hope for Nigerians.

Former chairman of the party in the state and APC House of Representatives candidate, Alhaji Bala Abubakar called on the people of the state to vote for APC during the 2015 elections.
