In a tribute to Bayero, the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu said Bayero’s 50 years on the throne brought tremendous progress and modernization to Kano, to the emir’s eternal credit.
“We note that since Alhaji Ado Bayero’s coronation in June 1963, violence- whether sectarian or otherwise, was a rare occurrence in Kano, where Christians and Muslims co-habit in peace, thanks to the fatherly role of the emir,” the forum said in a tribute signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo.
The forum also noted that Emir Bayero was a bridge builder helping to bring together his people, irrespective of their political differences or whether or not they were in the so-called political mainstream or in the opposition.
The forum prayed God to grant Emir Bayero excellent health, courage and many more years of selfless service to Nigeria and humanity.
Equally, the Inspector-General of Police, IG MD Abubakar has heartily felicitated with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Abdullahi Bayero on his 50th anniversary on the throne, describing him as one of the greatest ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force.

The IG in a statement by CSP Frank Mba the force spokesman recalled with delight the emir’s stint in the Police when he meritoriously served between 1957 and 1963 as the head of Kano Native Authority Police Division.

The Police boss further noted with pride that the emir stood firm, even at that time, against the culture of impunity and arbitrariness, thus entrenching discipline and fairness within the establishment.

Abubakar while noting that the emir has kept faith with these hallowed principles, by his unwavering stance against terrorism and other forms of criminalities, reiterated that the greatest gift of the Nigeria Police Force to the emir is a promise to continue in this path of honour towards realizing improved security for the nation.

The IGP wished the Emir Allah’s blessings and many more years of peace and sound health.
