#TrackNigeria: Mr Shekwogaza Gabaya, the Chairman-elect of Bwari Area Council, FCT, has promised to ensure that the crisis that rocked Bwari in 2018 would not repeat itself during his tenure.
Gabaya gave the promise on Thursday while speaking in Abuja, on the sideline of presentation of certificate of return by the Resident Electoral Commissioner to him.
The chairman-elect, who is due to take over the mantle of the leadership of the council from Musa Dikko,in June, said he would guard against divisive tendency when handling security issues.
Gabaya pledged to pacify the aggrieved and carry along the people in his administration their as part of mechanism his administration use to find amicable solution to any unfavourable situation in the council.
He also assured the people that he would not betray the confidence they reposed in him, adding that he would pursue result-oriented programmes for their social and economic uplift.
Gabaya said that he would ensure that the necessary amenities were provided, stressing that this would be done, irrespective of ethnicity,religious, and party affiliation.
Mr Abubakar Suleiman, a re-elected councilor (Usuma ward, Bwari Area Council), said this second term would be consolidated to impact on the lives of widows and empowered youths and women.
Suleiman said, “In my first tenure, I succeeded in constructing some culverts, drainage among other projects.
‘’I also succeeded in empowering some women and youths in my area as well as creating jobs for the people of my ward, especially the youth, to avoid restiveness,’’ he said.
