#TrackNigeria: Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF), a pan-Igbo socio-political group, on Monday urged the electorates to turn out en mass on March 9 to vote out bad leaders during the governorship and state assembly elections.

The President of the group, Comrade Augustine Chukwudum, gave the advice in an interview in Enugu.

He said that Nigerians, irrespective of political party divide must give `red cards’ to non-performing public office holders at the state level.

Chukwudum said it was necessary to avoid bad leaders who end up milking the God-given resources of the states for another four years.

According to him, some states are lagging behind in development due to bad and unproductive governance.

“Now is the time to elect people who will be servant leaders and not ruler’s,” he stressed.

He added: “NUF wishes to appreciate the performance of some governors and state house of assembly members in the last three years and 10 months in office; as they have driven people-oriented and people-centered programmes.

“We hereby call on voters from states, where political office holders are performing to re-elect them for another four years in office, to enable them to complete their good works which they had started.

“NUF also demands for change of government in some states because of mismanagement and looting of state treasury by political office holders.

“We urge Nigerians to come out en mass and cast their vote for total liberation of the country from looters and bad managers of our limited resources,’’ he said. (NAN)
