Over N43 million worth of tramadol and penkidol have been seized by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) General Strike Force team.
Speaking to newsmen in Minna, the National Coordinator of the team, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Kirawa said that 1,926 packets of Tramadol, 2,190 packets of tramadol Royal and 218 packets of penkidol were seized.
He said that they were arrested by the men of the taskforce along Suleja-Minna road adding that they were coming from Logo and headed to Kontagora and Kebbi State.
Kirawa disclosed that the goods were carefully concealed in a way that no one would have known the goods were in the trailer.
He added that the drivers were apprehended but later released on administrative bail, including the suspects as investigation was on to discover the real owner of the goods.
The team also seized 733 50kg bags of imported foreign parboiled rice valued at N11.5 million, 110 bundles of 330 pieces of used tires and 18 bales of second hand clothing worth N648,000.
Others were one used J5 bus with duty paid value of N1.3 million and a used Pontiac Vice with duty paid value of N648,000.
He said that the total number of seizure gotten in Niger state is put at N61,459,500.
