Though the political anxiety over who might emerge as the deputy governor of Kaduna state has ended with the nomination Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga, his emergence is being trailed by a not too surprising disquiet.Governor Mukhtar Yero sent Bajoga’s name for confirmation as deputy governor on Monday.
Reports from Kaduna afterward said some people in Bajoga’s Southern Kaduna have been threatening to go on hunger strike in the aftermath of his nomination . A leader of a youth group from Saminaka, Maigari Abuja ,while protesting Bajoga’s nomination today said , “we are going on a hunger strike in order to register our protest over the imposition of Ambassador Bajoga on us as deputy governor.
Also raising its hands against the nominee, the youth wing of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) at a press conference yesterday, said it will not work with Bajoga because he is an unpopular candidate .
Nasiru Jagaba, Secretary of SOKAPU youth wing said, “we will continue to fight the cause of what we believe in and we wish to tell the whole world that Bajoga’s nomination is a grand design to factionalize the state.

“Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero should reverse the nomination because the entire people of southern Kaduna state are aggrieved.”
Also Concerned Southern Kaduna Professionals, the decision of Bajoga betrayed his people by accepting the offer. “He will eventually realize that he has begun a journey into the wilderness of slavery, oppression, domination and political emasculation,” the group said in a press statement .
Concerned Southern Kaduna Professional in a statement signed by Dr. John Danfulani and Pendo K. Yates said “we do not hesitate to remind Bajoga that as young men and women, if our late Governor Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa is watching and reminiscing in the grave, then Bajoga has certainly betrayed him in death.”
Some watchers seem unsurprised by the new disquiet because there was a stiff contest for the seat of deputy governor.There had been some worries in some circles about Bajoga who is known to be over 6o years old.
