Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to keep faith with the promises of God who endowed our country so richly to renew our country and restore good life to us as we celebrate Christmas.
“I congratulate my dear compatriots at Christmas and pray for peace in our hearts, peace in our homes and peace in our country,” Atiku said in a statement by his Media Office in Abuja.
“As I wish you all a Merry Christmas, I enjoin you to keep the faith in the unfailing hope that God will renew our richly endowed country and restore the good life to us, His people,” he added.
The former Vice-President encouraged Nigerians to use this season to reflect on the need to rededicate ourselves to our God and His ways.
He urged Nigerians to have confidence in our nation as it charts a route out of the difficulties facing the country including security challenges and frequent loss of lives of our citizens.
Even as he prayed for a peaceful Christmas celebration all over the country, Atiku urged the nation’s leaders to be more compassionate and to imbibe the lessons of brotherly love in this season of joy with the hope that God will support all our good and sincere efforts in nation building.
