Telecommunication facilities once again , came under attack earlier today in Kano , Northern Nigeria.The National Emergency Management Agency ,NEMA in a statement “confirmed attacks on telecom masts belonging to Airtel and MTN at Old Parade Ground and Malali Road Respectively in Kano Muncipality today.
Yushaib Shuaib,NEMA’s spokesman who issued the statement also said “security (men) have cordoned off the area.No human casualty recorded so far”
Today’s attacks were not the first of such on telecoms facilities.Some months ago,telecoms facilities in Kano, Maiduguri and Bauchi among others came under attack by Boko Haram sect.
There has not been any report of any group claiming responsibility for today’s attacks in Kano as at the time of this report.
