Lade’s statement reads: “Your Excellency, we are before you today as a critical stakeholder, and our brother to seek your support towards ensuring that Kwara North produces the next Kwara Governor. We have had so many good things in common before you became Governor, and even when you were the Executive Governor of the State of Harmony. Our demand is aimed at achieving a more prosperous Kwara where all the three regions will have sense of belonging and more importantly to promote and sustain our long existing relationships”.
In his response, the former Governor congratulates the Forum for coming together, irrespective of political inclination, tribe and religion to pursue a common goal.
“First and foremost, I congratulate and commend you for coming together despite the difference in your political party affiliations, tribe and religion, that alone has really shown that you mean business”, he said.
The former Governor further stressed that the agitation is very timely, legit and deserving, because both Kwara South and Kwara Central had occupied the Governorship seat for the maximum years of governance atleast, which is eight years. According to His Excellency, Abdulfatah Ahmed, for any society to grow, everyone must have sense of inclusiveness which is always based on the tenet of equity, fairness and justice.
The former Governor pledged his support for the actualization of the agenda, he said “I am a beneficiary of a zoning system and I know the roles played by Kwara North leaders when I was coming onboard. I will always be available for you to offer support and advice at any time you need me” he said.
The Co-Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Abubakar Sukababa appreciated the former Governor for the warmth reception and his words of wisdom.
The Forum vowed to continue the consultation and ensure the agitation goes down to the grassroots
