Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji has declared his support for the creation of additional state in the South East. In a release by the Chief Press Secretary To The Governor, Ugochukwu Emezue, Governor Orji hinted that the call for new states already endorsed by south East governor’s forum is not negotiable as it will help in bringing the region at par with others.
Chief Orji sated that though he is in the forefront of the creation of Aba state, the new state can be created from any of the five Eastern states.
According to the Abia governor, those championing for the creation of new states in the region, especially the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu must be commended for their commitment, sacrifice and efforts in giving Ndigbo a pride of place in the country.
For Chief Orji this is one course all Ndigbo are committed to and they will not rest until their dream comes true.This struggle the governor argued is anchored on equity, fairplay and justice.
