The Sokoto state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto on Wednesday, filed a Notice of Appeal, against the judgement of the Gubernatorial Elections Petitions Tribunal, which affirmed the election of Aminu Tambuwal as governor.
This is contained in a statement by a member of the party’s legal team, Barrister Bashir Jodi.
The Tribunal had penultimate week, in Abuja, dismissed the petition brought before it, by Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu and the Party.
It upheld the election of the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as governor.
With Wednesday’s development, Aliyu and the Party, are now contesting the judgment of the Tribunal at the Court of Appeal, Sokoto.
