Adamawa House of Assembly on Wednesday threatened to issue warrant of arrest for three contractors for executing substandard job.
The House Majority Leader, Hassan Barguma (APC-Hong), issued the threat during committee hearing organised by House Standing Committee on Community Development and Rural Infrastructure.
Barguma expressed worry over the failure of the contractors to appear before the committee.
He, therefore, directed the Commissioner of Ministry of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Alhaji Hassan Pakka, to liaise with the committee’s secretary for a new date for the contractors to appear or risk arrest.
Barguma said the committee, during it oversight function, discovered that the job so far done by the contractors under the Rural Access and Mobility Projects (RAMP-2) worth over N1 billion were sub-standard.
Barguma said that the effort of the Governor, Muhammadu Bindow, to provide roads would not be allowed to be rubbished by the ministry and its contractors.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the affected companies are Hydro Source Nigeria Ltd, Buzeal Nigeria Ltd, and Muraj Company Nigeria Ltd.
