The Executive Director Projects of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Engr Samuel Adjogbe FNSE., has urged all qualified Engineers to continue in their endeavor to occupy their rightful place in the society.
Adjogbe noted that this resolve would strengthen professionalism and checkmate the incidence of quacks in the practice of Engineering.
The Executive Director, Projects made this remark in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while receiving an award in recognition of his passion for excellence in Engineering Projects Delivery by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Owerri Branch.
Stressing the need for the Engineering Profession to be guarded jealously, Adjogbe bemoaned the spate of failed construction projects in the country which have led to incessant loss of lives and properties.
‘When you compromise professionalism, you compromise the quality of the deliverables, at the end” Adjogbe added.
Engr Emeka Ugoanyanwu, Chairman of NSE, Owerri Branch, who reaffirmed the vision of the Association as including commitment to uphold high professional standards and ethics of Engineering, also took turn to commend the NDDC on it’s swift interventionist role in the Niger Delta Region especially on the Eleme and Mbiama Emergency Road Projects as in other parts of the Niger Delta region.
