The National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA, Chief Sam Nkire has criticised the PDP led Federal Government for excluding some political parties in the arrangements leading to Nigeria’s centenary celebration. Chief Nkire said in a statement that not involving other political parties gave the impression that the ruling party Peoples Democratic Party PDP

believed that the country belonged to only PDP members and government officials.

The PPA National Chairman reminded the PDP led government that the planning of the celebration of Nigeria’s 100 years of existence should not be left in the hands of PDP members and their agents alone but should include contributions from other political parties. Nkire said he had for some time noticed an unfortunate tendency for PDP to carry on as though the country was a one-party state.

According to him some greedy people in PDP were making it impossible for President Goodluck Jonathan to reach out to non PDP members and Nigerians who had something to offer for better governance. The PPA boss stated that government was neither a matter of “winner take all” nor a sole administratorship and therefore advised those in government to always pursue all inclusive policies instead of policies of exclusion, for greater achievement of governmental goals.
