Mr Aaron Kaase , a staff of the Police Service Commission who exposed theN275 fraud at the commission has debunked claims by former IGP Mike Okiro that he connived with a journalist to blackmail the former IGP.
Reactiong to Okiro’s claims,Kaase said Tuesday “ I want to add that, I have never colluded with anyone to blackmail Okiro, neither have I ever solicited for money directly or indirectly from Mr. Okiro to solve any personal issues, including marriage.
He said a journalist and publisher demanded N10million from him to kill the fraud story.Kaase has denied attempt by Okiro to link him with the request for money“I, I do not know the publisher in question, do not have his phone numbers and have never communicated with anyone. I challenge Mr. Okiro to mention the name of the person who blackmailed him.”
His reaction to Okro reads thus ,unedited : “My attention has been drawn to a campaign of calumny orchestrated by Mr. Mike Okiro, Chairman, PSC with the sole aim of discrediting my person in other to evade justice on the weighty corruption albatross hanging on his neck.
Ordinarily, I would have ignored this as the antics of a drowning man knowing fully well as stated in my petition to the anti graft agencies that corruption will fight back but for posterity, and to dis-abuse the minds of innocent Nigerians, I want to state that the allegations against me for blackmailing him are not just the height of falsehood, but further exposes a man who is smeared in dishonesty and lacks the integrity to hold such an exalted office.
I wish to state that in reference made to my person at the press conference yesterday 8/6/2015 which is widely reported in the media, I do not know the publisher in question, do not have his phone numbers and have never communicated with anyone. I challenge Mr. Okiro to mention the name of the person who blackmailed him.
I want to add that it is a pity that a supposed Knight like Okiro could descend so low to lie about people who are alive. I challenge anyone to discreetly ask the Directors at the said meeting if I ever admitted to anyone about conniving with any journalist. As a matter of fact, I am before an FCT High court challenging the humiliation I suffered in the hands of Okiro and his panel where I was not allowed to utter a word.
In conclusion, I want to add that, I have never colluded with anyone to blackmail Okiro, neither have I ever solicited for money directly or indirectly from Mr. Okiro to solve any personal issues, including marriage.
I also want to restate that the case of alleged N1m naira trial involving me before an Abuja magistrate court was masterminded and executed by Okiro himself, his known friend and his police orderly. My hands are clean and I believe God will vindicate me knowing that the price for fighting injustice has just begun.
