Nyako’s loot:Acting Governor inaugurates probe panel

Adamawa impeachment imbroglio has again taken new dimension with the state acting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri vowing to punish the former Governor of the state Murtala Nyako who allegedly squandered the states resources to the tune of about N82b Naira ,inaugurating the panel on Monday.
Fintiri who made the remark during a PDP stakeholders meeting which took place at the Government House Yola said the punishment will serve as a deterrent to any leader with insatiable lust to steal public funds.
The Acting governor said he will on Monday, inaugurate the panel of inquiry which will look into the financial fraud committed by the former Governor to unravel the surfeit of financial shenanigans carried out by the previous administration which plunged the state into the abyss of decay.
According to him ,’’ the main reason of instituting the panel is for the government and the people of Adamawa to be able to recover the stolen resources of the state so that they can be put to better use.
“We are going to ensure that all Adamawa funds in private accounts are retrieved back into the state coffers. We shall also ensure that all properties acquired with Adamawa resources are also retrieved so that their values can be channeled into Adamawa State resources,” he said.
The acting Governor also said he will ensure that all the previous accounts operated by the previous regime are collapsed into one central account and will put modalities in place to ensure that all debts that accrued to the state are spread for settlement in the future.
While promising to be fair in the use of the state’s resources, the acting Governor said his main mission in Government was to ensure that the state is repositioned with a view to recover its lost glory as consistent rape of its resources over the years has rendered it as one of the most backward states in the country.
He commended the stakeholders for their unflinching support promising to run an all inclusive Government just as he promised to open his doors wide open for advice from all the stakeholders.
Fintiri further said that he has been consulting with the various stakeholders of the party saying that all major policies of his administration will be carried out after careful consultations with the people so as to ensure that only people oriented policies are implemented.
