Nasarawa State lawmakers Monday commenced impeachment proceedings on Governor Tanko Al-Makura.
Al-Makura is a Governor of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Consequently, the Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Ego Maikeffi, has been directed to serve the Governor with the impeachment notice.
According to the notice signed by 20 of the 24 members of the Assembly, the lawmakers hinged the decision to impeach Al-Makura on a 16-count charge bothering on alleged gross misconduct, misappropriation of funds as well as extra-budgetary expenses.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ahmed Mohammed, presided over the sitting when the impeachment notice was signed.(Promptnewsonline.com)
