The Federal Capital Territory Administration yesterday dismissed media reports that two persons-a mother and child died as a result of its demolition of illegal structures at Lungu village in Abuja.
The Administration said that there was no evidence of any form indicating death even as it called on the public and relations of the supposed deceased persons to come forward with facts of the alleged deaths.
The FCTA said this in joint press conference addressed by the trio of Reuben Okoya Coordinator of the Abuja Municipal Management Council (AMMC) Nosike Ogbuenyi, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Hon. Minister and Mohammed Sule, Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister.
The administration said ther has not been any concrete evidence on the veracity or otherwise of the claim demanding that citizens should assist the administration to with name, sex and photo of the alleged death.
According to the administration there was no incident of death while it’s men were at the community to sustain the integrity of the masterplan between 10am when they arrived Lungu community and left the scene after her demolition operation at exactly 12:50pm.
Okoya who fielded questions from journalists said “We have no name, we have no sex of child, we have no photos, nothing.”
The administration calls on the community residents to help them and the public with the true position by providing evidence of the dead such as names and pictures amongst others.

Okoya said he smells political undertone in the manner of the media report and called on the media to uphold it’s ethics which distict it’s professionals from quacks.
Itnwould be recalled that the social media and some print media had reported various version of death of a child and the mother in relation to a home demolished at Lungu village leading to closure of the Kubwa Express Road.
