An Ilorin based legal practitioner, Mr Jimoh Abdullahi, has advised the public to be vigilant and conscious to help reduce insecurity in the country.

Abdullahi, who gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Ilorin said that security was the business of everyone.

According to him, security challenge should not be left with the government alone, but the public should also support its agents to tackle the menace.

” Everybody must be vigilant and report any strange moves in their vicinity. Report to the nearest security spots or call their emergency number to hint them.

“Do not leave everything for the government to do. We can support the government to tackle the kidnappers and bandits.

” Enough of complain that the government is not doing enough. We need to be security conscious if we really care to move freely again in the country.

“Stop blaming the government. We can end insecurity through determination and joint effort,” he said.

The legal practitioner, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration on the fight against terrorism and insecurity since its emergence.

He called on the government to up its determination and listen to the public when they offer security advice.

” Don’t say they are not security expert. Take their information as sensitive one without doubt. It may be of help because their safety is paramount, ” he said.(NAN)
