Senator Rashidi Ladoja has assured his supporters that he is going to challenge the out come of the recently announced elections of the governorship and state house of assembly elections in Oyo state at the election tribunal. He stated this today at the Accord state party secretariat Samonda Ibadan, when he addressed party supporters.
INEC had at the weekend declared APC’s Abiola Ajimobi as winner of the election.
The Accord gubernatorial candidate said that there were sufficient proof to show that the elections were rigged in favor of the APC with the active cooperation of some unscrupulous INEC officials. Senator Ladoja vowed to claim his mandate no matter the cost.
He however warned, that if the attacks on members of Accord by thugs loyal to the APC continued, he will be left with no choice than to urge his party members to defend themselves with every means necessary. He wondered why a party which claimed to have won the election will resort to visiting members of the opposition with wanton violence on the grounds that the people did not vote for them.
The former Governor stated further that if the violence continues he will personally lead his people out to defend themselves. nothing that it will be a mistake to take for granted the peaceful manner members and supporters of Accord had conducted themselves even in the face of brazen provocation.
Ladoja hinted that he will be heading to court knowing full well that no matter how far a lie travels the truth will catch up with it .
