Kwara Fire Service discovers drown body from river in llorin

The Kwara Fire Service on Monday discovered an unidentified dead body of a middle age man who drowned after Saturday early morning’s downpour in llorin during.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the corpse, which was dressed smartly, was discovered at a river under Osere bridge along Cemetary road in llorin West Local Government Area of the state.

Identity of the corpse could not be ascertained by the residents or where he was coming from before he drown.

TheDirector of the State Fire Service, Mr Falade Olumuyiwa, while speaking with NAN described the incident as unfortunate.

He said the drown man does not look like restitute or insane person since he dressed in a decent manner.

The director however said the man might be drown during the heavy rain recorded in some parts of llorin metropolis on Saturday, which rendered several residents homeless.

He advised residents to be more safety conscious especially as the rainy season has set in.

Olumuyiwa said the corpse has been handed over to the Divisional Police Office, B Division, Surulere, llorin.

The public relations officer of the state police command, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed report, saying the command has commenced investigation into the cause of the incident. (NAN)
