Kano state Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso was among hundreds of people that attended the funeral prayer for Alhaji Yusuf Chiroma Kutama, the Special Adviser on Political Affairs, who died in the early hours of Thursday.
The governor, who attended the prayer held at Kutama town, Gwarzo local government area, was accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi and other members of the state executive council.
The governor on described the death of Alhaji Kutama as shocking, pointing out that he and many associates of the deceased could not sleep when news of the death of the seasoned politician reached them.
Kwankwaso, while condoling with the people of the state over the death of Kutama, noted that his passing away has created a vacuum that could be difficult to fill.
“As my Political associate,” the governor said, “late Kutama supported me to win elections and attain high positions in my life as a politician”, emphasizing that his demise was a great loss not only to Kano state people but to Nigeria at large. He prayed to God Almighty to forgive him and grant him the highest paradise.
Aged 78, the deceased, a one-time chairman of the PDP in Kano, left behind four wives, 35 children and many grand children.
