IPU: Mark leads Nigerian Delegation to Kampala, Uganda

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark will lead Nigerian delegation to the 126th Assembly of the Inter-parliamentary Union (IPU) holding in Kampala, Uganda on Thursday (March 29, 2012).The IPU assembly will hold between March 30 and April 5, 2012

Those on the delegation includes: Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, Senators, Abdulaziz Usman, Ahmed Hassan Barata, Helen Esuene, and Ehigie Edobor Uzamere.

Others are members of the House of Representatives’, Daniel Reyeneiju, Bello Binta Fatima, Arowosoge, Ifeoluwa Abiose, Ibrahim Doruwa Sani and Idris Mohammed Sani.

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, Hon. Ihedioha and Esuene are members of the governing council of IPU representing Nigeria.

The general debate of the 126th IPU Assembly will centre on parliaments and people: Bridging the gap, and the role of parliaments in addressing key challenges to securing the health of women and children.

Other issues on the agenda include promoting and practicing good governance as a means of advancing peace and security: drawing lessons from recent events in the Middle East and North Africa among others.
