A woman, who had been married twice, has murdered her husband with a pair of dress-making scissors in Maje, Suleja.
Newsdiaryonline gathered that the woman Osakwe Rebecca, 32, who hails from Okpilla Edo State, following in an argument, threw the brand new scissors at her husband, which prompted the attack.
Rebecca, said to always throw things whenever she loses her temper decided to rush him to the hospital, but he died on the way.
It was gathered that Rebecca told the Police that robbers invaded their home, when a team of policemen on patrol went round her apartment.But there was no sign of robbery attack as everything in the apartment was intact.
When searched, it was found that Rebecca still had her tape-rule round her neck and the scissor stained with blood by the side of her sewing machine was detected.
According to a medical doctor on duty at the hospital, who did not want his name to b mentioned ,Osakwe died from a single wound to the chest, caused by scissors, which has been plunged 3-4in (10-12cm) into his body, between two ribs.
Neighbours said they often heard “one sided arguments,” with Rebecca being the more dominant and aggressive.
The scissors, the neighbours said, were brand new and intended for use with the dress-making course on which Rebecca had enrolled.
Neighbours also said the arguments were often one-sided, giving an impression of a meek Osakwe not defending himself against the physical and verbal abuse of his wife.
Another neighbour compared Rebecca to a bad-tempered cosmic book character “The incredible Hulk” adding: “She would change into a completely different person.”
Also reacting, the Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Eze Nneka, said the case “is culpable homicide,” adding: “Murder cases are transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Minna, for further interrogation.
