EFCC names Olaolu Adegbite as new Director Of Operations

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has announced the appointment of a new Director of Operations. He is Mr, Olaolu Adegbite, a Chief Superintendent of the Nigeria Police, CSP. Until his new appointment, Mr Adegbite was head of the Advance Fee Fraud Section of the EFCC, He has been head of that unit since the inception of the Commission in 2003.

A crack detective who enjoys tremendous respect from colleagues and superiors for his professionalism, Adegbite’s imprints are visible in some of the major operations of the Commission. He coordinated several anti-advance fee fraud operations at the Commission including Operation ‘Octopus’ in September 2005, Operation ‘Stop Payment’ in July 2007 and Operation ‘Cyberstorm1’ in April 2008.

Prior to his secondment to the EFCC in 2003, Adegbite had served as Detective in the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police between 2000 and 2003; head of the Homicide and Anti- Robbery sections of the Edo state Command of the Nigeria Police between 1997 and 2000 and 1996 and 1997, respectively.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP.

In his two decades policing career, Adegbite has attended several law enforcement courses in Nigeria and overseas. Among these are the Advance Law Enforcement Management course in New Mexico, 2008; Executive Law Enforcement Management course at the FBI Academy in Virginia, USA, 2006 and Law Enforcement Executive Development course at the International Law Enforcement Academy, Gaborone, Botswana.

Born on 20th of June 1967, Adegbite hails from Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State. He holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Russian Language and literature from the University of Lagos and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute respectively.

The new Director of Operations, who is married with children, holds the national honour of Member of the Federal Republic, MFR
