He asked the bereaved family to be consoled by the great virtues she was known for and to strive to emulate her as well as keep her legacies alive which includes her commitment to God, generosity and humane nature.

“Even though we are mourning, I want us to know that mama has gone to be with the Lord. That is one fact that we should note. She loved the Lord, worked for the Lord and died serving the lord.

“For us we are proud to see the kind of training she gave to her children which has made them to succeed in their various endeavours. We can see that in Francis Ottah who is one of us‎. A very hardworking gentleman and a professional to the core.

“A lot of people I am sure are surprised at the number of well respected dignitaries from Bayelsa who are here. It underscores the importance of Francis to us and the entire family. Beyond that, this is a relationship between two states that is so strong”.

In his remarks,‎ the State Governor, Samuel Ortom who spoke through his deputy, Benson Abounu, thanked the Bayelsa Governor for identifying with the family and the state, saying the death of the Late Veronica was a heavy loss.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the burial includes former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, two members of the House of Representatives from Bayelsa, Hon. Fred Agbedi and Hon. Douye Diri, media moguls, amongst others.
