Mr Martins Oloja,erstwhile Abuja Bureau Chief of Lagos-based The Guardian, has confirmed his appointment as the acting editor of the highly respected newspaper.He made this known on his facebook page.
Onoja who is equally well- respected by his colleagues broke the news to his friends thus: “CONFIRMATION: Really, I did not want to talk about my appointment on FB. I had thought that as a newsman, it is not proper to behave as a news maker.But inquiries have continued to pour in…That is why I would like to confirm here that it is true that the Board of Directors on Tuesday 2 October 2012 introduced me to the management and staff as Acting Editor of “The Guardian”.
The acting editor urged his friends and fans to “ Please pray for me because I just learned that the only reward for hard work in our business environment is more work…Let’s pray!”
He takes over from the outgoing editor ,Mr Debo Adesina
