#TrackNigeria: The vice chancellor of the Nigerian Army University BIU (NAUB), Prof. David Iliya Malgwi on Monday received his confirmation letter from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), LT. Gen. Tukur Buratai.
Iliya promised to do his best in discharging his duties, adding that the full support of COAS and the top management staff assisted him in his daily running of the institution.
“Since my appointment as the vice chancellor and first academic staff of NAUB on the 2nd October 2018, NAUB has recorded more than 500 Academic and Non-Academic staff filled with a cream of well celebrated professors with high international repute.
“During the period I acted, the University recorded tremendous achievements in the matriculation of 1000 undergraduate into five faculties and 39 programs, it will also interest you to know that the 1000 remedial students have finished their exams and waiting for replacement,” he said.
Iliya promised to discharge his duties in accordance with the set goals and norms of the Nigerian Army and the guide of the National University Commission (NUC).
Earlier in his address, Buratai urged the VC to put hands on deck to see to the focal point of the university as its vision is to serve as a solution centre for technological and operation problems of the Nigerian Army, military and the nation at large.
“The University is designed to create the critical mass required for research innovation, testing and development in the 21st century settings.
“Additionally, it will provide excellent ingenuity, creativity and distinctive competency in intellectual outcomes.
“Considering these objectives and in realization of what the future holds for the university, I urge all to support and contribute to the development of the Nigerian Army University,” Buratai said.
