Alleged stealing: Court grants 2 unemployed N200,000 bail

An Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada, FCT, on Thursday admitted two unemployed men, who have been on remand, to bail in the sum of N200,000, in a case of alleged stealing.

The Judge, Mr Sani Umar, also ordered that the defendants should provide a surety each.

He adjourned the case until March 16 for hearing.

The police had charged Awal Usman, 18, and Mohammed Umar, 27, of no fixed address, with conspiracy and extortion.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Abudullahi Tanko, told the court that one Mr Ishaq Aliyu of Lagama Military Cantonment, Biu in Borno, reported the case at the Gwagwalada
