Alleged assault: Court admits security guard to N1m bail

A Wuse Zone Six  Chief Magistrates’ Court Abuja, on Tuesday, admitted a security guard, Paul Tunkat,  who allegedly intimidated and assaulted a tenant to bail in the sum of N1 million.

The police charged Tunkat with three counts of criminal conspiracy, intimidation and assault.

The Magistrate, Aminu Eri, also ordered the defendant to produce two sureties in like sum.

Eri also ordered that the sureties must be ready to forfeit the bail bond via an affidavit if the defendant jump bail.

 

 

 

 

The magistrate adjourned the case until March 2, for hearing.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Peter Ejike told the court that the complainant, Adebimpe Adebayo of No 6, Juba Street, Suncity Estate, Galadimawa, Abuja, reported the matter at the Galadimawa Police Station on Jan. 21.

 

 

 

 

Ejike said that the defendant in company of  Nasiri Yusuf,  presently at large,  on Jan. 13 at about 12:40p.m. during beat up Adebayo during n altercation.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 96, 397 and  266  of the Penal Code Law.(NAN)
