Adamawa SACA Sets Up Media Team To Campaign Against HIV/AIDS

Adamawa state Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (ADSACA), has set up a media team to assist in the renewed fight against HIV/AIDS in the state.

Addressing members of the team at a workshop organized for them in Yola, the Executive Secretary of ADSACA, Mr Peter Teru, said the agency was committed to fighting the scourge through effective public awareness.

Teru tasked members of the team to justify the confidence reposed in them in educating the public on preventive and other necessary measures that would contain the scourge to a zero level in the state.

Also speaking, the ADSACA Community Mobilization Officer, Mallam Mohammed Mahmud, said in order to consistently scale up the state HIV/AIDS intervention, ADSACA deemed it imperative to embrace the media men.

Mahmud said the media men made up of experience journalists were expected to use their knowledge and commitment to reporting HIVAIDS in supporting the supporting the implementation of the streamline strategies to fighting the pandemic through the media.

” You are to identify the best approach to reach the different target audience of the entire population.

“You are to provide information at its simplest form so as to achieve maximum assimilation and usage

” You are to use the media to add measurable value to the national response to HIV/ AIDS by moving the media away from talking about just what it’s not done but valuable achievements in the fight against the scourge in Nigeria, ” Mahmud said.
