Streetkidz Charity, An international non-governmental Organisation, NGO, has donated some relief materials to Zion Orphanage, Karu, Abuja, to alleviate the suffering of children in the country.
While donating the items, Mrs Anne Enemaku, representative of the NGO, said the organisation would visit other orphanage across the country, with the aim to eradicate extreme hunger and poverty among children.
According to her, the organisation was founded by Ms Angela Springer, from Enfield, North London, with the aim of raising funds to help children across the globe who are in serious need of assistance.
“We are here today to give our widows mind and to see how we can partner with this home to give children a better life and future.
“Their is more joy in giving than receiving and majority of children in the country need assistance to survive the next day.
“The children have done nothing wrong to find themselves in the situation they are today, and I plead with people who have more than enough to help them.
“About 70 percent population of children globally need assistance and majority of them die every year because of hunger and starvation,” she said.
The representative, added that the NGO has come to support the governments effort in achieving its developmental goals and to help eradicate poverty in Nigeria.
She observed that the support was a concerted effort between the public and the private sector, hence, the need for local and international NGOs to ensure that the needs of children across the country were meet.
Meanwhile, Enemaku, informed the orphanage that their demands were noted down and the organisation would do its possible best to ensure that their needs were meet.
“We are not going to stop donating; the only time we will stop is when they tell us that there is no more need”. she said.
The items donated by the NGO include cash, clothing’s, packs of noodles, books, packs of sweet, packs of pencils and pens.
Princes Kaima Mozie, the founder of Zion Gate Orphanage, thanked the organisation for its kind gesture and promised to use the items donated accordingly.
Mozie, however, appealed to government, churches and well meaning Nigerians to support the orphanage in the country to alleviate the suffering of children.
