The Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed sadness over the demise of Sen. (Dr.) Jonathan Silas Zwingina.
This is contained in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Prof. TA Muhammad-Baba made available to newsmen.
Muhammad-Baba stated,”It is with sadness that the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) received news of the death of Sen. (Dr.) Jonathan Silas Zwingina, whose death occurred at Abuja, on Thursday, 3rd October, 2024, aged 70. Late Sen. (Dr.) Zwingina first made his marks as a student activist and union leader during his undergraduate days at the University of Ibadan in the mid-1970s, then as Gongola State Director of MAMSER and much later as a key figure in the Presidential Campaign Team of late Chief Mashood Abiola.
“He then came to more national prominence as a Senator representing Adamawa South Constituency, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the First Senate and Second (1999 – 2007) Senate of the Fourth Republic, where he indeed emerged as Majority Leader and also later Spokesman for the Red Chamber of the National Assembly. In the Senate and indeed in all his public appearances, late Sen. Zwingina was known, among other things for his oratory.
“ACF mourns his illustrious son of the North, deeply mourns his loss and prays for the peaceful repose of his soul.
“ACF extends condolences to his family and friends, the people of Adamawa South as well as to the Government of Adamawa State, the North and indeed the whole country.”
