A 35-year-old woman, Sonubi Abiodun, who allegedly exported two kilogrammes of Cocaine, on Thursday, appeared before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Abiodun was arraigned on a count charge of drug trafficking but she pleaded not guilty.
The defendant is being prosecuted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before Justice Ambrose Alagoa.
After her plea, her counsel, Mrs Vivian Ekwe, prayed the court to remand her in NDLEA custody pending hearing and determination of her bail application.
The court adjourned the case until July 22 for hearing of the bail application, and ordered remand of the defendant in NDLEA custody.
According to NDLEA, the defendant committed the offence on May 22.
She was apprehended during the outward clearance and examination of cargo to the United Kingdom, at the NACHO export shed of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja.
NDLEA alleged that the defendant exported the Cocaine without lawful authority, in contravention of Section 20(1) of the NDLEA Act of 2004. (NAN)
